MTS JROTC Cadets have selflessly volunteered their time and services this summer by visiting the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Veterans Home is dedicated to serving Minnesota Veterans and their families. During the course of the summer, several MTS JROTC Cadets have volunteered to assist Veterans by escorting and transporting them to play bingo on Wednesday afternoons.
Many of the Veterans are wheelchair bound and our Cadets assist by transporting them from their rooms to the cafeteria where the Veterans play bingo weekly. The Cadets also assist the Veterans in playing the bingo games and then return them to their rooms upon completion. The Veterans, as well as the Veterans Home staff are very appreciative for the assistance provided by the MTS JROTC Cadets. MTS JROTC Cadets who have selflessly volunteered their time this summer include Symone L. Randle, Tierra L. Booker-Jackson, Hector Llamas, Kendrick A. Moore, Omeed Farooq, Omer Farooq, Brady Patton and John Marzetti. These outstanding Cadets are fulfilling the goals of the JROTC Program by demonstrating the value of good citizenship, leadership and service to the community. They are commended for their efforts.
