A parent engagement night at MTCS Middle School in December introduced a powerful online math program and brought teachers and parents together to build greater student success.

“My number one goal for the year is Math,” said Director Melvin Baker. “And, I pride myself on having every student ready for high school.” Facilitator Shatona Kilgore-Groves took parents and teachers through several exercises and stressed the importance of staying connected to the school. “Everyone’s on the same level,” she said. Finding the individual approaches that work best for each student is a goal. It’s about letting parents know that we care about how they feel, she said.
