DeAndrea is a tenth grader at MTS High School and will have her name in lights someday. If you’ve seen her perform, heard her voice on a DMA track, or listened to a recording she has produced, you know that she is the real deal. Not only has she performed with both DMA’s live bands, her power house of a voice was just featured in a solo performance at the MTS High School talent show. She has freely lent her talents to several of MTS students’ music compositions and side projects.
DMA: How long have you been in the DMA?
DAB: I’ve been in the DMA all year and have been at MTS since 9th grade.
DMA: Why did you join?
DAB: I love making music! I wanted the opportunity to play different instruments and meet new people.
DMA: What’s your favorite thing about being in the DMA?
DAB: I like helping people out and being part of their projects. I also like learning new instruments.
DMA: What’s the most challenging part?
DAB: Learning ProTools [sound editing software]
DMA: What advise would you give to students thinking of joining next year?
DAB: Be confident. Put in effort and learn. It’s okay to be scared, but you’ve got to get over it to get what you want out of the DMA.
