The first week back at Banaadir Academy was very exciting for teachers and students. From day one, classes were designed to help students be successful at school. During the first week, students and teachers reviewed the Eagle Expectations for certain school-wide procedures and routines. Students from kindergarten through eighth grade, attended short lessons around the building about the Banaadir Eagle Expectations: We are respectful. We are responsible. We are safe.
Each grade spent about 15 minutes in different areas of the building. They learned and reviewed how to be respectful, responsible and safe. Stations were set up around the school, where teachers talked about proper behavior in the cafeteria, hallway, playground, lunchroom, buses and during dismissal. Students will continue to learn what is expected of them and what that looks like. Our goal is to teach and recognize positive behavior.
There is a reward for students that show outstanding behavior; students can get “Caught in the Act” for showing positive behavior and following the Eagle Expectations. Students can also earn a referral-free/buddy room free award at the end of the quarter. We are looking forward to a great year!
