Health Care Academy

The Health Care Academy takes a unique approach to vocational health care training! Students and Health Care Academy staff work together in a group to assure the success of each student. The Health Care Academy provides opportunities for students to experience higher education in a structured and supportive learning environment. Upon completion of the program, students will are trained for a career in the health care field.
The MTS Health Care Academy (HCA) offers two separate programs; Opportunities in Emergency Health Care (OEC) and Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR). Classes are taught by certified teachers as well as medical professions including nurses, law enforcement officers, fire fighters, and EMTs. The OEC program consists of First Responder, First Aid, CPR, and EMT classes that prepare students in emergence services career fields (EMS, Fire, Police). The NAR program offers classes in First Aid, CPR, Patient Feeding, Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Trained Medical Aide, and Acute Care. These classes prepare students for careers in nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Students must express an interest in the health care field
- Students must demonstrate their commitment to learning by fulfilling attendance and assignment requirement
- Students must maintain a minimum of 90% attendance
- Students must participate in all offered study sessions
