Students at the Digital Media Academy study all aspects of the filmmaking process – writing a professional screenplay, shooting a short film or animation, editing on the latest professional equipment and software, and entering and promoting a film in festivals.

About the Instructor: Trey Wodele
Trey is a graduate of Southwest High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Screenwriting from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul . Trey earned his Minnesota State teaching license in Language Arts at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
Trey has worked as a waiter, gardener, screenwriter, fiction editor, substitute teacher, and finally, at MTS as the DMA coordinator and screenwriting & video arts teacher.
He is the founder and co-producer of the .EDU Film Festival, Minnesota’s only school sponsored, state-wide film festival for high school students.
When he’s not teaching, Trey is working on his novel, riding his Electra bicycle, reading mysteries, watching the Minnesota Twins, or playing with his iPad.
Trey and his wife have three children. Someday, they hope to purchase a sailboat and spend their retirement sailing the Caribbean.
