The MTS High School offers space required for the core requirement classes, and the intimacy necessary for our extensive Creative Arts program. The exceptionally low student-to-staff ratio (about 10 to 1) allows for a “family-like” atmosphere where personal, long-lasting relationships are formed, making it hard to “fall through the cracks”. In fact, a student at MTS will have the same teacher for academic area for as long as they are both a part of the MTS High School – this allows for each teacher to truly know and address the strengths and weaknesses of each student on a very personal level.
MTS High School students are eligible for all MTS activities, such as our very successful basketball team, as well as any intramural or extra-curricular activities offered in the district. Special Education services are available at all MTS sites.
One of the highlights of the MTS High School is the Digital Media Academy. DMA gives students the chance to learn the craft of writing and producing video and audio. Through hands-on experience with professional grade equipment and personal instruction, students are given the knowledge and skills necessary to work in today’s digital art fields, as well as the opportunity to explore and express their own voice through film and music.
The MTS High School is located at 2872 26th Ave. S. in Minneapolis. For more information, or to learn how you can become part of this excellent program, call 612-722-9013.
