Banaadir South Mission<\/strong>: A community of learners dedicated to prepare students to be college or career ready and productive members of society<\/p>\n

Banaadir South Vision<\/strong>: We are committed to character development and academic success<\/p>\n

First off, all of us teachers at Banaadir South would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our parents who attended our first two Parent Education Nights! Parent Education Nights are a great way to gain information and learn how to best work together with your child\u2019s teacher(s). Research shows that family engagement in schools help improve student achievement and restores parents\u2019 confidence in their children\u2019s education.\u00a0 Students with involved families earn higher grades, test scores and have better social skills and improved behavior. We hope to see you all at our next one on November 21st!<\/p>\n

Our students have been working hard on restorative conversations, relationships and community! The students and staff have been working together in earning a field trip reward for being respectful, responsible and safe in the classrooms, lunchroom, at recess and in the hallways. We were able to reach our goal of 100 links in our paper chain so we got to celebrate all of our hard work and success at the park where we were able to play and have fun together!<\/p>\n

We have kicked off our second year with our Bus Patrol Program and it has started off in such a positive and amazing way! This year we have seven bus patrols; two bus patrols on buses one, two and three and one bus patrol on bus four. They have a huge responsibility in helping the bus driver in making sure all children are being safe. They are able to give out tickets to students who are showing how to ride the bus respectfully, responsibly and safe. Thanks for all of your support as we continue to improve and work towards bus safety!<\/p>\n

Student Council is also up and running for the school year. Students in grades 3-6 who showed interest have submitted their applications and the next steps are for students to vote! The first student council meeting will be on October 21st. It\u2019s a great opportunity for student voices to be heard and for students to make choices and changes that they want to see happen at Banaadir South.<\/p>\n
