African American history and greatness is celebrated all year long at MTS Elementary, but February is a special month-long exploration of how black Americans have shaped our communities. One beautiful event during this month’s celebration is National African American Parent Involvement Day.<\/p>\n

The event began in the gym. Author, Kristen Robinson, read her book It\u2019s the Twins for Me! to the students and guests. Following the reading, each class had a special song or skit to perform.<\/p>\n

At the end, special guest COFFE\u2019 performed dance with the students and then had some students dance. It was a lively and beautiful affair and everyone had a great time.<\/p>\n

Following the performances, students, staff and parents got together and enjoyed a special lunch that was brought in for the special day. MTS Elementary is such a strong community!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
