MTS Secondary Story
December 23, 2019

As part of the ongoing school improvement work taking place at MTS Secondary, the school leadership team (LIT Team)  recognizes a need to build a strong partnership with the families of our students. To do this, the LIT Team wanted to bring families and staff together for a night of food, fun, and a little bit of business. The first step toward building those strong relationships took place on the evening of December 4th during our Turkey Bingo event.

The evening began with, parents / guardians, students and staff sharing a delicious meal of chicken alfredo, salad, and garlic bread. During the dinner, Ms. Raney treated the group to a short acoustic musical set. We also took this fellowship time to ask a few questions of the parents and guardians that attended the event. More on this to follow…

Following dinner, it was time for Bingo! Ms. BB did a phenomenal job as the bingo caller, especially with her assistant Zahri pulling the numbers from the hopper. Once numbers started being called, the competitive juices began flowing, the conversations slowed and it was clearly time to get down to business. Thanks to a very generous donation of 14 turkeys from Target, everyone was able to go home a winner!

As mentioned above, in an effort to better understand the community MTS serves and to better understand the perception our parents / guardians have of our school, the leadership team had three questions for our families.

  1. What are your students saying about their experiences at school?
  2. What are some ways that MTS has contributed to the school community? In both harmful and beneficial ways.
  3. What would you like to see MTS do within the community to make it a better place?

We would love to hear your feedback on these questions. Feel free to respond to any or all of the questions above by emailing sfondow@emailmtcs.org.

We are all looking forward to hosting you at our next event!
