Minnesota Transitions Charter School 2016-2017 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment State Tests

The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) state tests are given to evaluate students’ competence in the application of the processes and concepts of the state graduation standards. MTS uses the MCA data to identify district and school strengths and weaknesses; and to identify student growth.

*Graduation Requirement: Students first enrolled in Grade 8 in 2012–2013 and Later must be provided the opportunity to participate in a district-provided college entrance exam in grade 11 or grade 12. http://education.state.mn.us/MDE/SchSup/TestAdmin/MNTests/index.html

Graduation Assessment Requirements
Graduation assessment requirements are based on when students first enrolled in grade 8.

  • Students first enrolled in grade 8 in 2011–2012 and earlier have a number of options to meet graduation assessment requirements in reading, mathematics, and writing.
  • Students first enrolled in grade 8 in 2012–2013 and later must be provided an opportunity to participate in a district-provided college entrance exam in grade 11 or grade 12.
