Former MTCS teacher and board member, Sheila McMahon announces the Kickstarter campaign and upcoming arrival of her new book,\u00a0Isabella, A Visit to the Sculpture Garden<\/em>, illustrated by Heather Bassler Zemien, an MTCS P.E.A.S.E. Academy art teacher.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The new book is part of their children\u2019s book series,\u00a0Isabella, Cat in the City.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Isabella is an audaciously independent cat who has unique adventures around the Twin Cities.<\/p>\n

The two teachers self-published their first book in 2014,\u00a0Isabella Cat in the City: A Visit to the IDS Center<\/em>.\u00a0 The second book was\u00a0Isabella Cat in the City: A Visit to the Guthrie Theater<\/em>. \u00a0 They also created a small booklet called\u00a0Why Isabella Marches<\/em>, in which Isabella went to the Women\u2019s March in 2016\u00a0 – the message is to get out and vote.\u00a0 This new book is the third and likely final book in the series, in which two of Isabella\u2019s squirrel-friends help her to face a fear.<\/p>\n

One of the offered Kickstarter reward is a chance\u00a0to sponsor Ms. Tuvey\u2019s class to receive enough books for each of the kids to take home, and also a classroom visit from Heather.\u00a0 The kickstarter goes through October 7, and the books should arrive mid-December.<\/p>\n<\/div>
