What is your favorite hobby?
I have so many of them, it all depends on the season and if I have the resources to do them. Photography, SCUBA diving, bicycling, and hiking lead the list.
If you were a super hero, what power would you want to have and why?
Be able to touch people’s hearts to bring out the good in them.
Did you always want to be a teacher? If not, what did you want to be instead?
No, it was the last thing I thought I would do when I was in Junior High. I wanted to be a marine (coral reef) biologist.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I’ve backpacked on the Isle Royale in Lake Superior for two weeks and carried all my gear with me.
Why do you want to teach?
I love the kids and enjoy it. I am stimulated by their learning processes.
Where did you teach last?
I taught last year at the Urban League Academy Middle School, located close to where Banaadir is now.
Is there anything you would like to add?
I enjoy the students and staff here at Banaadir. It is a positive environment to work and learn in.
