How has P.E.A.S.E helped me with getting to a place of even going to/getting ready for college?

As a high schooler in recovery, I have had my fair share of life experiences, but I still have many things left to learn. Asking for help has always been difficult for me, but P.E.A.S.E has offered a shoulder to lean on while also teaching me how to be independent. Two years ago at fifteen years old, I could have never imagined even getting to a place of wanting to go to college, let alone getting into any. Now at seventeen I have gotten into multiple colleges and am ready to begin my journey this coming fall. However, getting to this place was not easy and it has taken a lot of work both in my recovery and in my personal life.

P.E.A.S.E has played a crucial role in my journey towards preparing and navigating the transition into college. The endless support and resources offered by P.E.A.S.E have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and pursue my academic aspirations. One major way P.E.A.S.E has assisted me is by offering guidance and encouragement throughout my recovery journey. The school’s supportive environment and daily access to counselors/mentors have provided me with the necessary tools to put my recovery at the forefront of my mind, while also helping me achieve my academic goals. Through things like accommodating classes, individual counseling sessions, and sobriety support groups, P.E.A.S.E has helped me develop resilience skills, acquire a strong sense of accountability, and create comparability in doing things by myself, which are essential skills for succeeding in college and adult life.

Furthermore, P.E.A.S.E has helped me navigate the college application process. From assistance with filling out applications to writing recommendation letters, this school has equipped me with the knowledge and resources needed to pursue higher education. Additionally, the encouragement and belief in my potential from the P.E.A.S.E teachers and students alike has boosted my confidence and motivated me to strive for success in my recovery and at school. Overall, P.E.A.S.E has been an essential and guiding influence in my journey toward college readiness and sobriety. I am incredibly grateful for the impact P.E.A.S.E has had on my life and the endless opportunities, grace, and accountability they have blessed me and many others with.
