Minnesota Transitions Charter School 2019 & 20 Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Elections

One of the unique and wonderful aspects of Charter Schools is their leadership—run entirely by staff, parents and community members.  Being on the Board of Directors is a chance to work together and make decisions that create opportunities for students.

This year, MTCS K-12 Academic Community has 3 open seats on the Board (one of which must be filled by a licensed teacher and the other two seats may be filled by a teacher, parent or community member).

If exploring leadership skill development, or wanting to use your voice in new ways is intriguing to you—consider running for the MTCS Board.

Staff, parents and community members will vote electronically from October 14 through October 24, and the end of voting and the results will be announced at the Annual Meeting, on Thursday, October 24 at 5:00pm.  Instructions will be sent to you.

If you are interested in running for a seat on the MTCS Board of Directors, here is what you need to do:

  • Fill out the Board Application form and submit it to Jenny Buck at jbuck@emailmtcs.org no later than the end of the business day on October 4 (at 5:00pm), 2019.
  • Your short bio and statement must be submitted Jenny Buck at jbuck@emailmtcs.org no later than the end of the business day on October 4 (at 5:00pm), 2019  This should be sent with your Board Application.

If you are not interested, but know of someone you think would be wonderful in this role, please consider encouraging them to run.

About the Elections and the Annual Meeting, October 24, 2019

Voting for the Board of Directors will be conducted during the dates of October 14-October 24, 2019.  Online voting stations will be available at all school sites: MTCS District office, MTS Secondary, Banaadir Academy North, Banaadir Academy South, MTS Elementary, MN Virtual and P.E.A.S.E. Academy.

You may vote with your unique link or code–at any of the school sites or from anywhere, during dates of October 14-October 24, 2019 or at the Annual Meeting which will take place at the MTCS main office at 2872 26th Avenue South, Minneapolis, 55406.  The Annual meeting will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 5:00pm.  No voting will take place after 5:00pm.  All ballots will be tallied and the results of the election will be announced in the Annual Meeting.
