We have been notified of multiple lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in many members of the MTS Elementary School community with multiple exposure dates between the dates of 11/01/21 – 11/09/21. For privacy reasons, we cannot share details about the status of the people. At this time, they have been advised to stay home and away from other people (isolate). We have worked to identify and notify those who had close contact with these individuals who have COVID-19. The risk of exposure for other people present in the building on that date is no greater than the risk of contracting the virus in the general community. If you or your child were not notified that you had close contact with the person, you should still monitor for symptoms of illness, but do not need to stay home unless symptoms develop. If symptoms develop, stay home and consult with your health care provider to determine if medical evaluation is needed. We are working closely with the Minnesota Department of Health to monitor the situation.

To minimize continued risk and exposure, MTS Elementary School will be moving to Distance Learning beginning 11/11/21 through 11/24/21.

There will be no school for students tomorrow, 11/10/21. Wednesday, 11/10/21, will be used as a Professional Development day so that staff may plan and prepare for this shift to Distance Learning.

With Thanksgiving break, all students will return back to in-person learning on 11/29/21. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have on your family and will work to ensure that there is minimal disruption to your child’s education and learning.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your support and helping to keep our school community safe.

Sincerely,

Sue Dornfeld
