The Latinas Unidas Network held their monthly meeting at MTS Elementary School in November.  More than thirty women from organizations all around the area met to make connections, share information and support each other’s work that benefits the community in so many ways.

Individuals came from the University of Minnesota, the Minneapolis Sherriff’s office, Minneapolis Public Schools, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, CLUES, Way to Grow … to mention just a few, along with Minnesota Transitions Charter School’s own, Community Engagement Coordinator, Dr. Marisa Rivera Lugo, who hosted the gathering.

MTCS Superintendent, Brian Erlandson, shared thoughts on the MTCS, the largest charter organization in the state, and its commitment to create a niche for each and every learner.

Being open and welcoming is part of the MTCS culture and we were delighted to host the Latinas Unidas Network.
