At MTS we believe in learning by doing. we know that one of the most important goals for education is preparing students for employment after high school. Leadership in JROTC
Be part of an elite team in this program that emphasizes leadership skills, community service, discipline and citizenship.
This creative program gives students the opportunity to produce remarkable digital music, film, and graphic art with professional tools.
This hands-on program gives students the skills to build repair and create, even manage properties –skills for good jobs and opportunities.

Build, repair, and create. Members of the Trade Skills Academy obtain the skills needed to maintain commercial or residential properties. Skilled craftsmen teach students advanced woodworking and construction. Students progress from classroom instruction to supervised, hands-on-projects, to paid internships and jobs. Students leave this program with the skills to command a better, higher paying job.
Learn about and explore sports careers like sports business management, sports medicine, officiating, coaching, strength and conditioning, and more. The Sport Career Academy provides varied and exciting opportunities for students with numerous field trips and incoming speakers. Students receive advice, skills, experience, support, and credentials from professionals in the sports community.
Shoot music videos with professional crews and musicians. Record your own demo, shoot your own video, design an ad campaign, or secure a paid internship. The Digital Media Academy gives students the skills, tools, and opportunities to explore or launch a career in design, video graphics, or sound production. Students learn on industry standard tools like Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro, and Pro Tools. This creative group of students creates remarkable portfolios of work.
Lead classmates, give back to the community, manage projects and be part of a team with this JROTC program. General Colin L. Powell Leadership Academy is the only free Army Junior Reserve Officer Training program (JROTC) in Hennepin County. This small, personalized, high school program emphasizes leadership and character skills, community service, and citizenship. JROTC cadets are more likely to graduate, go to college, and succeed in life.
