In what has become an annual tradition, Banaadir North students challenged the staff in a basketball game. A first game launched the festivities with the 4th and 5th graders playing against each other—the whooping and cheering was probably heard throughout the neighborhood. This is when things started getting really exciting. Banaadir North staff and even MTCS District Superintendent, stepped in to challenge the students. Staff and students roared up and down the full, beautiful, sunny gym floor, lobbing shot after shot at the basket. The fans seemed to cheer equally when the students or the staff scored a basket. The staff won. But that isn’t the story. The story is the great community here—the high 5’s, students able to see teachers in an all new light, being able to laugh and cheer and support each other. It was a remarkable experience for everyone who was there, and just the perfect way to begin a well-deserved vacation. Way to go, Banaadir North!
