Dear MTCS Community,
We hope this finds you well and that you were able to find some joy and respite this summer. As we prepare for the school year ahead, Shawn and I wanted to connect with you all regarding our shift in district leadership. These past 3 years with Brian Erlandson as our Superintendent, has really allowed MTCS to thrive. Collectively, we built an exceptional team of district leaders who truly understand that our humanity, our connections and our stories are at the heart of how we educate our scholars. We are grateful for Brian’s leadership, for all we learned by working alongside him and for the trust he has in us to keep exploring our beautiful potential for transforming education.
As Shawn and I step into leading the district, we are most excited to continue our vision of centering our relationships with each of you, our scholars and our families. Over the years that Shawn and I have worked at MTCS, we have been in awe of the dedication our educators have to meeting all people where they are at. There are two core assumptions of restorative practice that continue to drive our vision. One is that “All human beings have gifts, and everyone is needed for what they bring” and the second is “Everything we need to make positive change is already here.” We are grateful for each and every one of you and we look forward to serving, growing and learning as we explore possibilities together this school year.
