Dear MTS Elementary Families,

In the wake of the murder of Daunte Wright, I am reaching out and sending love and light to our community.  As our human need to heal is continuing to be derailed by the next injustice and senseless loss of life, I find it difficult to understand our world. What I do know, is that I have so much to learn and I am dedicated to doing the inside-out work needed to create a learning environment that shows each of our children how important they are and how very much they matter.

As we continue to find our way together, navigating and speaking out about the tragedies of injustice, I want you to know that our school community is here for you and for your children. MTS Elementary and the entire Minnesota Transitions Charter School are here to hold space for any student or family member who would like to partner in processing the continued violence against black lives. Megan Lexan our School Social Worker and I are available along with Wendy Lorenz-Walraven our District Director of Equity and Diversity to support you in a way that you may need.  Black lives matter, today and every day.

Please let us know how we can support you and your family.
