We were notified by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) of multiple l ab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 i n a few members of MTS Elementary School community with an exposure date of 04/13/21. For privacy reasons, we cannot share details about the status of the people. At this time, they have been advised to stay home and away from other people (isolate). We have worked with MDH to identify and notify those who had close contact with the person who has COVID-19. The risk of exposure for other people present i n the building on that date i s no greater than the risk of contracting the virus i n the general community. If you or your child were not notified that you had close contact with the person, you should still monitor for symptoms of illness, but do not need to stay home unless symptoms develop. If symptoms develop, stay home and consult with your health care provider to determine i f medical evaluation i s needed. We are working closely with MDH to monitor the situation.

As a result of the number of cases and the impact to the learning environment, MTS Elementary School will be shifting to a Distance Learning educational model effective 04/15/21 until 05/02/21. MTS Elementary School will return to a full In-Person learning model on 05/03/21. We recognize that this i s not the i deal situation for students or families, and apologize for an inconvenience that this may cause you. To maintain a safe and healthy school environment for everyone, we feel that this i s the best decision for us to make at this time to prevent the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus.
