Thank You MTS Elementary!

Friendship Center received a phone call from Nancy Youngman, a teacher at MTS Elementary, stating that the school’s student council was having a penny drive and wanted the Friendship Center to be the recipient of its efforts.

Bundled up MTS Elementary students visited the Friendship Center throughout December of 2014, singing songs and saying ”Hello.” In January, the entire student council visited and presented the Friendship Center with 8,500 pennies. That’s $85! The students also offered hugs to seniors.

The Friendship Center participants were very grateful to the youth for their kindness and friendship. Everyone looks forward to a great partnership with the youth in the future. The money will go toward a special art project yet to be determined, that will likely involve some MTS students.
