Fourth grade teacher, Mariam Mohamed read her newly published book, *Ayeeyo’s Golden Rule *to a room of energetic Banaadir Academy North students at their Title 1 Literacy Night on Thursday, November 2nd.
She told the students that she wrote the book because she wanted them to read and see themselves in books.
The story is about Yasmeen, a Somali girl who immigrates to the US. She uses her grandmother’s inspirational words to work through bullying and make new friends.
Ayeeyo’s Golden Rule is visually beautiful, and the story is universal for all students to read. The MTCS community is proud of you, Ms. Mohamed!
