One of the highlights at the General Colin L. Powell Leadership Academy is the Annual Awards celebration lunch. Representatives from various branches of U.S. service join the Powell cadets to present them with awards for their accomplishments this past year. It is a very moving event, as medals and pins were added to uniform lapels and shoulders in recognition of hard work and growth.
Classmates, family and friends celebrated with the cadets for lunch following the event. As happens each year, Powell Leadership Academy cadets have practiced skills and character building that will benefit them their whole lives: teamwork, responsibility, leadership, community service and so much more—working together and experiencing many wonderful opportunities.
