The General Colin L. Powell leadership academy, (PLA) participated in the 26th Annual Cretin-Derham Hall Upper Midwest JROTC competition. Events included the Squad Drill, Knowledge Bowl, Color Guard, Physical Training, Air Rifle Match, Tug-o-War and Knockout Drill.
PLA competed in three events, beginning with the Color Guard. The team: Cadet Sheldon Myers, Cadet Devon Killebrew, Cadet Ryan Quiel, Cadet Chris Orrick and Cadet Dajuana Carpenter. They did an outstanding job and have a bright future in future competitions. Knowledge Team competitors were: Cadet Kaylee Nickelson, Cadet Tyrese McNeal, Cadet Deztiny Earsom and Cadet Dontae Holland. This was a new experience for these cadets and they performed admirably. The last event of the day was the Knockout competition, and all cadets participated.
