Banaadir Elementary Mural Project
Each classroom at Banaadir Elementary created their own interpretation of Aziz Osman’s painting, Fiesta, on their own canvas. The completed mural is the artwork of each class placed together, representing the school, the community, and the love and respect shared.
The combined painting is very beautiful and colorful and will adorn the hall of Banaadir Elementary for a long time to come. The entire school shared the unveiling of the artwork via zoom from their classrooms.
If, after seeing Banaadir Elementary’s interpretation of Aziz Osman’s work, you would like to see more of his work, you can visit the Somali Cultural museum and see some of Osman’s work in their permanent collection. Aziz Osman is a Somali artist who now lives in Minnesota.
