MNVS staff, students, and families joined together and participated in the Minnesota NAMIWalks (National Alliance on Mental Illness ) event at Minnehaha Park recently. This event included a 5K walk to help raise awareness for and end the stigma against mental illness.
Rain was expected, but the group of more than twenty walked rain-free! MNVS raised funds to support NAMI. It also, importantly, gave staff, students and families a chance to come together in support of a very important cause.
An MNVS teacher designed the shirt that all participants wore on the walk. Three sisters and their mom drove from Brainerd to be at the event. MNVS is an online school with a big community!
