April 23, 2020

Dear MTCS Families,

As I am sure most of you have heard today, April 23, 2020, Governor Tim Walz, just closed schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.  This means that students will continue distance learning for the remainder of this school year.  We as a school do recognize that this is a challenge for all parents and we want to thank you for stepping up to support our teachers and your students during this challenging time.

Please know that the people of Minnesota are doing a great job, there are currently 2942 cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota, but many other states have thousands more cases than Minnesota.  This is because the people of Minnesota are doing a great job with staying home and social distancing when they are out in public.  Please know the new recommendation is that all people wear cloth face coverings when they leave their homes.  More information on this subject can be found on the CDC website at this website address:

Some states have moved to make cloth face coverings mandatory as it helps prevent people who may have the virus, but that don’t have symptoms from spreading the virus further.  I would recommend that you work on getting cloth face coverings for when you leave your house and social distancing is not possible.  Also please continue to wash hands frequently and clean frequently touched surfaces to protect your family.

Please continue to reach out if you have any questions.  If you have questions about school and subject matter, reach out to your student’s teacher, and if you have questions about anything related to health please reach out to me, I am available to answer any questions.
