Former MTCS teacher and board member, Sheila McMahon announces the Kickstarter campaign and upcoming arrival of her new book, Isabella, A Visit to the Sculpture Garden, illustrated by Heather Bassler Zemien, an MTCS P.E.A.S.E. Academy art teacher.   The new book is part of their children’s book series, Isabella, Cat in the City.  Isabella is an audaciously independent cat who has unique adventures around the Twin Cities.

The two teachers self-published their first book in 2014, Isabella Cat in the City: A Visit to the IDS Center.  The second book was Isabella Cat in the City: A Visit to the Guthrie Theater.   They also created a small booklet called Why Isabella Marches, in which Isabella went to the Women’s March in 2016  – the message is to get out and vote.  This new book is the third and likely final book in the series, in which two of Isabella’s squirrel-friends help her to face a fear.

Interested in supporting their Kickstarter campaign, and a special gift to Ms. Tuvey’s K/1 class MTS Elementary?

One of the offered Kickstarter reward is a chance to sponsor Ms. Tuvey’s class to receive enough books for each of the kids to take home, and also a classroom visit from Heather.  The kickstarter goes through October 7, and the books should arrive mid-December.
