1st Quarter Letter
As the weather turns colder and the leaves begin to fall, I’d like to officially welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. Over the first month of the school year, I’ve had the privilege of being in all of our schools, witnessing the relationship building process between our students and staff. The energy and positivity across MTCS as we move further into the “new normal” following the peak of the pandemic is palpable. I’m excited to share a few of our upcoming events with you and I look forward to seeing you in our schools throughout the fall.
Despite the excitement of a new year, our school year didn’t begin without complications. I want to acknowledge the issues we had with transportation over the first two weeks of the school year and with our Moodle program. In each case, the plans we had in place were not equal to the stress the beginning of the year placed on our systems. I acknowledge and apologize for the pain and difficulty this caused for our students and families. We have taken steps in our planning for the beginning of the next school year that we hope will reduce or eliminate the issues that caused the disruption to student learning.
Parent / Teacher conferences will be taking place for many of our schools on October 18th and 19th. Parent, student, teacher relationships are the foundation of student success. Please attend if you are able. Together we can help our students reach their goals.
The MTCS Annual Meeting will be held in person for the first time since 2019. The Annual Meeting will take place at 5:00 PM on October 27th at MTS Secondary: 2872 26th Ave S. Mpls 55406.
The Annual meeting will provide an update on the state of the district, provide an opportunity for fellowship across our schools, and will be a venue for voting for the 5 open seats on the MTCS Board of Directors (voting closes at 5:00 PM on 10/27/22). Please be on the lookout for a link in your email to vote digitally or vote in the front office of your MTCS school.
There are many exciting things happening in our schools. The talented scholars across MTCS make our schools vibrant learning communities. We look forward to highlighting them throughout the year on our website, via email newsletters, in live performances and more.

A medida que el clima se vuelve más frío y las hojas comienzan a caer, me gustaría darles oficialmente la bienvenida al año escolar 2022-2023. Durante el primer mes del año escolar, he tenido el privilegio de estar en todas nuestras escuelas, siendo testigo del proceso de construcción de relaciones entre nuestros estudiantes y el personal. La energía y el positivismo en todo MTCS a medida que nos adentramos en la “nueva normalidad” tras el pico de la pandemia es palpable. Me entusiasma compartir con ustedes algunos de nuestros próximos eventos y espero verlos en nuestras escuelas a lo largo del otoño.
A pesar de la emoción de un nuevo año, nuestro año escolar no comenzó sin complicaciones. Quiero reconocer los problemas que tuvimos con el transporte durante las dos primeras semanas del año escolar y con nuestro programa Moodle. En cada caso, los planes que teníamos en marcha no estuvieron a la altura del estrés que el comienzo del año supuso para nuestros sistemas. Reconozco y me disculpo por el dolor y la dificultad que esto causó a nuestros estudiantes y familias. Hemos tomado medidas en nuestra planificación para el comienzo del próximo año escolar que esperamos reduzcan o eliminen los problemas que causaron la interrupción del aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
Las conferencias de padres y maestros tendrán lugar en muchas de nuestras escuelas el 18 y 19 de octubre. Las relaciones entre padres, estudiantes y maestros son la base del éxito de los estudiantes. Por favor, asistan si pueden. Juntos podemos ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a alcanzar sus metas.
La Reunión Anual de MTCS se llevará a cabo en persona por primera vez desde 2019. La Reunión Anual tendrá lugar a las 5:00 PM el 27 de octubre en la Secundaria MTS: 2872 26th Ave S. Mpls 55406.
