We strive to support you and keep you informed of important dates and information. Included in this issue are important details about what’s happening as we wind down this school year and start planning for next year! If you have an idea for a future newsletter topic please let us know!

Important Dates and Reminders:

  • May 9th – Family Night at MNVS (more information will be emailed out soon)
  • May 29th – No School (Memorial Day)
  • June 6th – Last Day of School

ATTENTION 8th grade students and families:

A new chapter in your life is soon approaching. High School! New classes, new course options, and new opportunities! With all the excitement, transitional changes can also seem overwhelming. The video below is a recorded information session that discusses preparing for high school, the differences between high school and middle school, earning credits, graduation requirements and other opportunities that are available to you as a high school student. It is a longer video but full of important information and we encourage you to watch it!

Graduating Seniors…SAVE THE DATE!

The MNVS Graduation Ceremony will be on Saturday, June 10th at the Minneapolis Convention Center. An RSVP invite and more information will be sent out in the coming weeks. There is no limit on the number of guests that can attend.

PSEO Opportunities

Want to get a jump-start on college without leaving your home!? Consider PSEO at MNVS! PSEO is a dual credit program that allows 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students to earn high school and college credit tuition completely FREE! With traditional PSEO, these courses are generally offered on the campus of the post-secondary institution but many courses are offered online. Each participating college and university sets their own requirements for enrollment into the PSEO courses and programs. If you are interested, please contact your school counselor to discuss options, requirements for the program, and next steps. If you are interested for next year, please contact your counselor at some point this spring. Please note, if you are behind on credits or have a GPA lower than 3.2, you likely will not be eligible for this program.

Re-enrolling for the 23-24 School Year

Emails will be sent out this week which will include the SchoolMint link (password reset if needed). The parent/guardian’s email that filled out paperwork the last time will receive this email.. The first step is just clicking “returning” or that they will be re-enrolling for the fall, or “not returning”. The second part will take about 10 minutes to review and fill out the re-enrollment paperwork. If they have any questions or issues they can call or email Mellanie Hinrichs – Mnvsadmissions@emailmtcs.org or by phone at 763-260-4133

Summer School Options

MNVS is offering summer school again this year. Students can take one or two classes over the summer for credit recovery. Please note, summer school is a big time commitment! Counselors typically recommend summer school only for juniors or seniors who will be a course or two short of graduating on time. Please contact your counselor if you are considering summer school. Summer school goes from 6/2 to 7/7.
