Visiting artist Mikha Dominguez joined MTS Secondary middle and high school art classes to create artwork that will be featured in their Art Shanty Project, “La Casa de los Sueños de Colores.”  Students contributed by created ocean themed paintings on canvas and using recycled materials to decorate a forest of colorful trees.

The Art Shanties will be on display on frozen Bdé Umán/Lake Harriet on the weekends  during January 27 –February 11, between 10am and 4pm. This is a very fun event, celebrating winter, art and community, all on a frozen lake.  If you get a chance you should visit and see the students’ work out in Minnesota winter. There are a number of activities, performances and events.

The Art Shanty Project is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024. You can read more about the project and see the schedule of events here: https://artshantyprojects.org/2024-program-overview/.
