Juneteenth is an important day in our shared US history—a day of recognition of the end of slavery and a day where to come together in community. As a school, MTCS is committed to honoring this day.  This is a wonderful day to come together, support black owned businesses, appreciate black artists and musicians and generally celebrate how much more rich we are when we see, appreciate and support one other.

There are many public events in the Twin Cities honoring Juneteenth that you may want to take part in.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has numerous activities: https://www.minneapolisparks.org/activities-events/events/juneteenth/

MTCS has a deep commitment to equity and diversity. The MTCS Definition of Equity: MTCS believes equity provides historically disenfranchised students the opportunity for an education whereby they have access to the resources and opportunities that will elevate them holistically and empower them to advocate for meaningful and intentional work. We recognize that eliminating barriers requires daily reflection, engagement and practice. We commit to actively dismantling internal systems of oppression, leveling professional power and valuing the assets of difference.
