Marty Lukaszewski, Minnesota Virtual Schools Language Arts teacher, Board member, and former Board Chair is featured on Animal Planet, as part of a special feature about Can Do Canines, an organization that trains and places dogs for service work.
Marty has Parkinson’s disease, and part of what allows him to continue to work and live his life fully is his service dog, Laverne. Laverne accompanies Marty to work delivering online language art classes, meetings, shopping, everywhere he goes, and is available to support him if he needs it. Laverne can open doors, pick up dropped items, even bring him his phone from another room if he needs help.
