Dear Parents / Guardians,

We were notified of a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in a member of the MTS Secondary school community with exposure date of 09/29/21. For privacy reasons, we cannot share details about the status of the people. At this time, they have been advised to stay home and away from other people (isolate). We have worked to identify and notify those who had close contact with the person who has COVID-19. The risk of exposure for other people present in the building on that date is no greater than the risk of contracting the virus in the general community. If you or your child were not notified that you had close contact with the person, you should still monitor for symptoms of illness, but do not need to stay home unless symptoms develop. If symptoms develop, stay home and consult with your health care provider to determine if medical evaluation is needed. We are working closely with the Minnesota Department of Health to monitor the situation.

To minimize continued risk and exposure, MTS Secondary will be moving to distance learning beginning 10/05/21 through 10/13/21. All students will return back to in-person learning on 10/14/21. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have on your family and will work to ensure that this causes minimal disruption to your child’s education and learning.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact our school. Thank you for your support and helping to keep our school community safe.

Sincerely,
Shawn Fondow / Wendy Lorenz-Walraven
