Where Are We Now: P.E.A.S.E. Alumni Nick PocockMy P.E.A.S.E. recovery journey started in January 2011. I was 16 and finishing my junior year at a small school where I knew nobody except one or two familiar faces from recovery meetings. I was uncomfortable to say the least. I was about a week sober and it was a very scary, dark time in my life.

The very first thing I witnessed was how many of my peers seemed genuinely happy, and sober. It was absolutely undeniable. Everybody was joking with each other and happy to see each other again after winter break.

The relationships that I made at P.E.A.S.E. are lifelong ones. 10 years later and most of my close friends today are classmates from P.E.A.S.E.. To be in an environment day after day surrounded by kids just like me, trying to stay sober and have fun was an absolute blessing. I can confidently say my life would not be the same had I not attended P.E.A.S.E..

Anyways, today I am blessed with many gifts. I am married to an alumni of a now-closed sober high school, we have a house that we love and I get to work on music for a living. Here is a picture of me from this last January playing in Anaheim with my friends’ band!
