Brrrr!!!

I hope this message finds you safe and warm.

When students return from break, we will be entering the winter assessment window. MTCS students take the NWEA test three times per year to measure growth in reading and math over the course of the year, and across multiple years, for students that have been with us for an extended period. These low stakes assessments take about an hour each (math and reading) and provide our teachers with insight into how best to meet the needs of each of our individual learners. For more information regarding NWEA assessments, please reach out to your school’s director.

Stay connected! MTCS uses a service called “Remind” to deliver important information (including school closings) to our students and families via text, email, and phone. Remind get’s its contact information from our school information system – “Skyward.” If your contact information changes, please be sure to inform your school’s office so that you don’t miss any important information. Coming soon – MTCS will be unveiling a school specific app that will allow for messages to be delivered in a push notification directly to your cell phone.

The first semester ends on January 26th. Take some time over winter break to check in with your student about their academic progress. You are always welcome to check in with teachers regarding grades and assignments. The education of your child is a team effort. Let’s finish the semester strong!

Thank you for the privilege of working with your scholar. It is a duty that we take seriously and never take for granted.

Have a safe and warm winter break!
