MN Virtual Schools Admissions/Enrollment

Four Easy Steps to Enroll as a Full-Time Student

1.Parents and guardians, this is you. Fill out the enrollment form through SchoolMint with the information and documents we need to start your student at Minnesota Virtual Schools. We are here to help if you have questions.

2.This is where we come in. MNVS will work with you to make sure we have everything we need, including getting the records from your previous school, and find out anything else we need to know including when you want to start. Things are really coming together now.

3.Finally, students, you are up! We will work with you about what classes you’ll need and a fun part: what electives interest you! A counselor will work with you to build your course schedule, get you all the training and log-in information you need to be successful.

4.You’re in! You will have everything you need (including your own touchscreen Chromebook) to be the amazing student we know you are and succeed in your classes. We are always here to help you. And we mean it—let us know how we can help you.

If the enrollment at any MTCS program exceeds the capacity of the program, class, grade level or physical space, students will be accepted by lot.

MTCS will give enrollment preference to a sibling of an enrolled student and to a foster child of that pupil’s parents. The children of school staff’s children will be given preference before accepting other students by lottery.

When space opens up in any program, a lottery will be conducted at the MTCS main office before the beginning of each enrollment period. Student’s names will be placed in a container and names will be drawn by the board appointed lottery official. Parents/guardians will be notified by telephone and mail if their child’s name has been drawn.

As a result of the U.S. Supreme Court Ruling, school personnel may not deny admission to a student during initial enrollment or any other time on basis of undocumented status; or require parents or students to disclose their immigration status or social security numbers, which may expose undocumented status (458 U.S. 1131{1982}).
