This year is off to a great start in our Special Education Department!  We just recently held our annual Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC), where we invited families, community members, and staff to join us in learning about Special Education and parental rights at Minnesota Transitions Charter School (MTCS).  It is the goal of our department to provide the best specialized services and programming to our students who are on an Individualized Education Plan. MTCS offers a full continuum of specialized academic, social, emotional, and behavioral services.  We also provide a variety of related services, such as Speech/Language, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Developmental/Adapted Physical Education, and Social Work Skills Training.

Many of these services are provided in the traditional seat-based setting in our schools.  However, we also have a unique opportunity for students with an IEP who may learn better virtually, to do some through our MN Virtual Middle / High Schools and Connections Academy. Through these schools, we offer specialized services online, including direct instruction and support services.  Special Education at MTCS is provided by our highly qualified and licensed teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, related service providers, and department leaders. We are grateful every day to be able to work with and support the amazing students we have attending MTCS!
